わーい！なんかよくわからんかったけどソラマメ有料会員登録できだのだ。心新たにほいじゃ宣伝宣伝と思いましたが一発目の記事がこれになるとは想定外でした。というのも、うちの居候ポーズ屋が数日前夜逃げをしたと思いきや生意気にも自分の店を開店させやがってたよ。

IMAGINE PEACE TOWER
イマジンピースタワーに行ってきました。10/9の除幕式にはオノヨーコもセカンドライフにやってきてスピーチを行ったそうです。
この土地、惑星、そして宇宙において善を司る精霊たちよ。イマジンピースタワーの除幕式のためのこのささやかな集いに立ち会っていただきありがとうございます。
中国の人々が全員、同時に飛び跳ねると、地球の軸が移動すると言われています。そして、私たちはみんな今、場を共にしてここにいます。
何十億人という単位で。地球上の全ての生命に対する愛と思いやりの力をもって世界の軸を健康、悦び、平和へと転換させようという決意を抱き、新時代の幕明けに立っています。
私たちの中には物理的にここにいる方々もいれば、心の中で参加している方々もいます。中には投獄され、拷問を受け、身体機能を奪われ、口を封じられた方々もいますが、彼らも今日、ここにいます。

あまりプライベートのことは書かないんだけど、今日はがっつり書かせてもらいます。
行ってきたのさ 『メアリーブレア展』。いやあ10/5までって聞いてちょう焦った。前の 『ディズニーアート展』 は気づいたら終わっちゃってたしね。また同じ間違いをするとこだったの、あぶないあぶない。えとメアリーブレアについてあまりピンと来ない方はまずはここ読んでね。
メアリー・ブレア Mary Blair （1911-1978）
オクラホマ州生まれ。カリフォルニアのシュイナード美術学院を卒業後、水彩画家としてそのキャリアをスタートさせる。1939年にディズニー・スタジオに入社し、コンセプト・アートなどを担当。その後、ウォルト･ディズニーらと共に訪れた南米への旅を経てその才能が開花。「シンデレラ」（1950年）、「ふしぎの国のアリス」（1951年）、「ピーター・パン」（1953年）などでカラー･スタイリストとして活躍。素晴らしい色彩感覚を活かして数々の功績を残す。ディズニーランドの人気アトラクション「イッツ・ア・スモールワールド」のデザインも担当した。また、絵本の挿絵や多くの広告デザインの実績なども残しており、特に挿絵を担当した絵本『わたしはとべる』は現在も世界中で親しまれている。

「シンデレラ」、「ふしぎの国のアリス」、「ピーター・パン」という、いずれもディズニーの初期長編アニメーションの傑作と呼ばれる作品に、メアリー・ブレアの示したスタイルは大いに評価され取り入れられました。その才能を評価し続けたのが、ウォルト・ディズニー。ウォルトは、メアリーがディズニーに入社した当初から才能に注目。1940年～50年代という、アメリカ社会においても未だ働く女性には厳しかった時代に、多くの仕事を彼女に任せました。メアリーは一度ディズニー社を離れますが、ウォルトは「イッツ・ア・スモールワールド」の構想を実現させる為に、再びその才能を必要とし、彼女をこのプロジェクトの中心に就かせました。ニューヨークに住みフリーランスの仕事も行なっていたメアリーをフロリダでの仕事や会議に就かせる際には、ウォルトは自家用飛行機を使わせて通ってもらったという逸話も残っています。メアリー・ブレアの才能が、それだけ他のデザイナーには無い稀有な魅力を伴っていた証拠なのです。

要するにディズニーの美術さんだね。昔のディズニー映画の色合いってすごい独特だけど、これはメアリーブレアのカラーがふんだんに散りばめられていたってことなんだな。こいうのあんまり説明するの得意じゃないんで、"すごい" とか "きれいだった" とかしか書けないんだけど、あんまり好きじゃなかった It's a small world がものすごく乗りたくなった。あれがメアリーのイメージだったとは！！もう全部ほんとかわいいのなんの♥・・・っていますごい柄じゃないことを書いているね。。。でもディズニーは別！！大好きなんだもん。東京はもう終わっちゃたけど、全国回ると思うから絶対見に行った方がいいよ。

Buffalo '66の話の内容はぜんぜん覚えてないけどこのシーンは大好き。クリスティーなリッチが可愛すきるのです。クリムゾンの曲にあわせてステップを踏ませるギャロのセンスに脱帽です。
